Trackers Safari Lodge is situated in the Buhoma Sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, one of the most diverse forests in Africa. Until approximately 500 years ago, when agriculturalists began encroaching on the forest and planting food, the area was part of a much larger forest belt that stretched south to the slopes of the Virunga Mountains.
Situated at a height of 1500 meters, the lodge is only five minutes’ drive from the park headquarters, where visitors receive an orientation before beginning their gorilla tracking experience. In addition to being the first to open in 1993, Buhoma continues to draw the greatest number of visitors to the park due to its accessibility in comparison to other areas. At least 120 different mammal species can be found in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, home to the renowned mountain gorillas.

The furnished accommodations at Trackers Safari Lodge have wooden floors, grass thatched roofs, and log cottages. Eleven large, opulent, independent chalets with king-size beds and orthopaedic mattresses are available at the lodge.
