Mahogany Springs Lodge

Since its opening in 2011, Mahogany Springs Lodge has served as a base for tourists interested in wildlife to see Uganda’s critically endangered mountain gorillas, observe a variety of uncommon bird species, and unwind in verdant settings.

The resort can be reached in around two minutes by car or five to ten minutes on foot from the entrance of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where your trek to observe Uganda’s mountain gorillas in their native habitat will begin.

Mahogany Springs Lodge is situated in the Buhoma area of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, just a short stroll or two minutes by car from the starting location for gorilla trekking. Situated on a hillside, Mahogany Springs’ main lodge structure provides breathtaking views of Bwindi from its expansive terrace. Savour a selection of dishes and beverages with an international flair while sitting on the terrace or in our roomy restaurant. You can even have a private meal on your own balcony or beside the river. There is something for everyone at the bar thanks to its extensive selection of wines, beers, spirits, cocktails, and soft drinks.

This serene spot is ideal for unwinding and appreciating the beauty of the flora and fauna that contribute to Bwindi’s exceptional qualities. It is situated among beautiful gardens with a view of the Munyanga River.

Mahogany Springs may be reached after a quick (70–90 minute) aircraft ride from Entebbe to KIHIHI and a 60-minute shuttle. Alternatively, you might take a car through Uganda and make stops at other places like Kibale for chimpanzee tracking, Queen Elizabeth National Park for safaris, and many more.

Located in the southwest of Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to some of the continent’s most biologically varied regions. Bwindi is a haven for birdwatchers and wildlife photographers, hosting more than half of the world’s mountain gorilla population in addition to over 350 bird species, 220 butterfly species, and over 120 mammal species.

Take a seat on a stool or unwind in the recently renovated living room; it’s the ideal spot to peruse your gorilla trekking photo collection or read a book while sipping coffee. Enjoy a well-earned glass of wine while lounging by the fire on one of our incredibly comfortable couches in the evening. Book a massage with our skilled therapist to ease your sore muscles and unwind in the comfort of your own room.

There is a gift shop inside the main building that offers a variety of locally produced apparel, crafts and Ugandan souvenirs for you and your loved ones. Please visit our shop if you would like to purchase anything in advance; it will be waiting for you in your accommodation when you check in.
