Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport
A representative of our company will meet you at the airport and drive you to your lodging. Kigali is regarded as one of the most beautiful towns in Africa because of its intriguing architecture, bustling streets, winding boulevards, and verdant slopes.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park
You will be driven to Akagera National Park in private this morning. Over the next two days, you will explore the largest protected wetland in Central Africa, which is the only remaining habitat for creatures that have adapted to the savannah. Savour nature drives in the morning and afternoon while searching for buffalo, giraffes, zebras, elephants, and other animals. Explore the Kagera River’s wetlands, lakes surrounded by swamps, and rolling mountains. See hundreds of bird species plus crocodiles and hippos in the park’s aquatic basins. In the evening, unwind by the fire or on the spacious viewing deck while swimming in your lodge’s pool.

Day 3: Full Day in Akagera National Park
Spend the day enjoying morning and afternoon nature drives looking for elephant, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and more. In the evening take a dip in the pool of your lodge and relax on the expansive viewing deck or by the fire.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You’ll be taken to Volcanoes National Park this morning to witness the endangered mountain gorillas that live there. The endangered mountain gorillas will be observed in their native environment here. Go on beautiful hiking routes away from the jungle, stop by the Karisoke Research Centre and Dian Fossey’s mausoleum, trek to the crater lake on Mount Bisoke, or indulge in a spa treatment.

Days 5 and 6: Volcanoes National Park
You will observe the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural environment for an hour in the morning. After that, you will leave the jungle and start hiking along beautiful pathways. This is your opportunity to climb to the crater lake on Mount Bisoke, see the Karisoke Research Centre and Dian Fossey’s mausoleum, or indulge in a spa treatment. You will have the remainder of the day to yourself.

Day 7: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park – Canopy Walk Experience.
Wake up to a nice breakfast and check out of the lodge. You will be driven to Nyungwe Forest National Park, one of Africa’s most ancient forests and the home of Rwanda’s sole remaining chimpanzee population. Arrive in time for lunch and in the afternoon go for the famous Canopy Walk Experience that gives you amazing views of this really thick forest. Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will wake up very early, have breakfast and head out to the park headquarters for briefing about what to expect during chimpanzee tracking. You will then be allocate into groups and assigned ranger guides to direct you into the forest. Once you find the chimpanzees, you will be allowed up to 1 hour with them for observation and photography. Later, exit the forest, head back to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge.

Day 9: Departure
Today you’ll be escorted by car to the airport for your onward journey.
