Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Ruhengeri.
Our tour guide will pick you up at Kigali’s Kanombe International Airport and take you on a city tour that begins at the Nyamata Memorial Genocide Site, where more than 5,000 people were slain and buried during the 1994 genocide. Drive to Ruhengeri and check in after visiting the first house, the national museum and shopping.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Visit Twin Lakes
After your breakfast, you will continue to Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi. You will proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing following breakfast. After that, enter the tropical rain forest and look for the mountain gorillas, beginning where they were the day before and continuing until you locate them. They may be feeding their children, climbing trees, or simply lounging about as part of their regular routine. Turn off your flash and take your best pictures. The entire workout takes no more than an hour. After that, you will head back to the park offices to pick up your certificate for tracking gorillas. The lodge will serve lunch. In the afternoon, you might go on a lake tour and visit the remarkable caverns surrounding the lake while striking several amusing postures for memorial pictures close to the caves. For dinner and the night, head back to the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Akagera National Park.
Get up early and eat breakfast. Then, board the safari land cruiser and head to Akagera National Park. You will arrive in Kigali at approximately 11 a.m. and continue on to Akagera till lunchtime. An expert tour guide will accompany you on an evening game drive following lunch. Check into the hotel later in the evening for dinner and a night’s stay.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise.
Get up early for breakfast and then go on a morning wildlife drive to catch the predators and early risers returning to their hiding spots. On the game drive, one can witness a wide range of creatures, including as elephants, buffaloes, lions, Masai giraffes, gazelles, impala, baboons, monkeys, topi, bush baby, leopard, and bushbuck. Return to the Lodge for a late breakfast and relax while we wait for lunch. Later this afternoon, we may go on a boat trip on Lake Ihema, which will reward you with about 525 different kinds of birds, a large number of hippos, and massive Nile crocodiles.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali – Departure.
Get up early, do a morning game drive in another area of the park, then head back to the lodge for breakfast before travelling to Kigali for lunch, where you may enjoy it. You will have a city tour in the afternoon to see the local markets and browse at the craft stores. You will then be dropped off at your preferred hotel or airport so you can take a trip home.
