Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to more than half of the world’s mountain gorillas. Enquire Now Chimpanzees, baboons, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, and other primates can all be found at Bwindi. Queen Elizabeth National Park is home to roughly 606 bird species and 86 animal species, such as the pallid harrier, jacana, grey heron, and rufous-bellied heron. Mammals such as Rothschild’s giraffes, Cape buffalos, and elephants can be found at Queen Elizabeth National Park.

4 Days Uganda Primate Tracking Safari

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Our driver/guide will pick you up from your Kampala hotel or place of residence to begin your 4 Days Uganda Primate Tracking Safari. The guide will take you on a nine-hour drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwest of Uganda after giving you an overview of the country’s four-day safari. After stopping for some photos at the Equator Crossing, you will continue on to Mbarara town for lunch at the Agip Motel. Following lunch, you will resume your journey towards Bwindi while taking in the Pearl of Africa’s rural vistas. In the evening, you will reach the resort in time for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After an early breakfast to start the day, your guide will take you to the park headquarters where Uganda Wildlife Authority representatives will give you a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Bwindi. A tracking group and guides will be given to you, and you will journey into the jungle to look for the mountain gorillas. Depending on how the gorillas travel, tracking them could take anywhere from 30 minutes to a full day. You will be able to spend an hour with the gorillas after you have found them, observing them as they eat, groom, and relax.

With a packed lunch from the lodge, you will venture into the bush. Trekking with gorillas is a challenging exercise that requires a certain level of physical fitness. The majority of visitors to Uganda enjoy the thrilling experience of getting up close and personal with the mountain gorillas.

In the evening, you will stroll around the Batwa neighbourhood, engage with the locals, discover their way of life, and witness their traditional music and dances. After that, you’ll head back to the lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After an early breakfast, your driver or guide will take you to the Ishasha region of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which is famous for the Tree Climbing Lions that you are likely to see. You can come upon additional species while driving through the Ishasha region in pursuit of the Tree Climbing Lions. You will next make your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving at the lodge just in time for lunch. After lunch, you’ll take a two-hour boat ride over the Kazinga Channel, which links Lakes Edward and George. During the boat ride on the Kazinga Channel, you can spot a wide variety of animals and birds, including hyenas, waterbucks, elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, and bushbucks.

After the boat ride, you will take short evening game drive to spot more of the animals and then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kyambura Gorge – Departure

After an early breakfast, you will have a nature walk in Kyambura Gorge to look for primates like chimpanzees, baboons, monkeys, and many more. The various tree species that forest elephants eat can be shown here. After that, you will go through Maramagambo Forest on your way back to Kampala. You will arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon after stopping for lunch along the way. For dinner and the night, you will be driven to a hotel in Kampala or Entebbe.
