Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Kitgum

Around seven in the morning, you depart from Kampala/Entebbe to Kitgum to begin your tour of the stunning Kidepo National Park. You will travel through the plain and isolated northern regions of the nation, stopping for lunch in Gulu along route, and then spending the night and dinner in Kitgum.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

You will leave for Kidepo Valley National Park early in the morning after having a cup of coffee. On the way, you pass through small villages made up of mud and thatch belonging to the Acholi tribe. The road winds through the mountain ranges of Keler and Loniyilli, which provide some of the most breathtaking views as you descend the valley. We arrive in time for lunch and check in as we get ready for an afternoon game drive in the Narus Valley, where we hope to see African buffaloes, lions, cheetah Our four-day Kidepo wildlife adventure is enhanced by this drive.

Day 3: Wildlife Game Drive in Kidepo – Visit Hot Springs.

Begin with an early morning wildlife drive; a park ranger will assist you in locating any lions that might be perched on the various rocks in the valley for as long as you would like. In the untamed Narus Valley, there are also elephants, leopards, buffalo, ostriches, jackals, bush-buck, bush pigs, and many other species of wildlife. Following lunch, you have an afternoon wildlife drive down the Kidepo River, which is flanked with palm trees and leads you past hot springs.

Day 4: Karimojong Cultural Tour – Transfer to Gulu.

You will visit the Cultural Groups today after breakfast to learn more about the unique, prehistoric Karimojong civilisation. See traditional homesteads to learn about the Karimojong culture, eat regional cuisine, and hear tales from this isolated tribe’s mythology. This afternoon, make your transfer to Gulu and unwind at the hotel.

Day 5: Drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast, get ready to travel to the rhino sanctuary located in Nakasongola. Unlike other common game drives, rhino tracking is done on foot and takes one to two hours, depending on the rhinos’ position. The duties of the more than 70 park rangers include helping visitors locate the rhinos during tracking and ensuring the rhinos’ overall safety and well-being. In addition to bird watching, where you can spot Shoebills, canoe rides, night walks, nature walks and other activities, the tracking activity requires closed shoes, long trousers, water and bug repellent. Visiting the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which enables you to get up close and safely with these incredible animals, is a terrific way to experience a Uganda safari.

Day 6: Return to Kampala – Departure.

After breakfast, you will be transferred back to Entebbe Airport to catch your flight back home.
