Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport.

Our company’s safari driver will pick you up at the airport, meet you, and give you a brief briefing. Depending on traffic, it will take 20 to 30 minutes to go to your Kigali accommodation. There will be enough time for you to relax and prepare for your safari adventure the next day. Our driver will make sure you are at ease and ready as you get ready for an incredible and thrilling trip taking in Rwanda’s breathtaking scenery and animals.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park.

After a leisurely breakfast, begin your informative visit of the Kigali Genocide Memorial. After that, spend a day visiting the breathtaking Nyungwe Forest National Park in the southern region of Rwanda. It is possible to make a diversion along the way to Huye Town’s ethnographic national museum. It takes approximately five hours to go from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest. Next, enjoy a delicious supper before heading into the forest. Get ready for an experience of a lifetime as you explore the diverse flora and fauna of Nyungwe Forest National Park, which is home to rare bird species and over 13 different types of monkeys.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe – Canopy Walk Experience.

After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for an orientation. After that, embark on a quest through the lush rainforest to track down the elusive chimps, who swing from tree limbs and provide amazing images and videos. Later in the day, take an exciting canopy walk in the Nyungwe forest, where you may see a variety of native bird species and monkeys.

Day 4: Nyungwe to Gisenyi (Lake Kivu).

Visit the town of Gisenyi, which is located on the border between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and is adjacent to the magnificent Lake Kivu. Arriving there will take four to five hours, during which you will go through the Albertine Rift, a portion of the magnificent Great Rift Valley, gorgeous rolling hills, and prosperous tea plantations.

Day 5: Explore Gisenyi Town and Lake Kivu.

After breakfast at the hotel, there are a lot of things to do today. You can visit a factory and plantation producing tea, take a boat ride on Lake Kivu, and go to the border between Rwanda and Goma.

Day 6: Lake Kivu to Volcanoes National Park.

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your 59-kilometer journey towards Musanze, the location of Volcanoes National Park. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to take in the breathtaking highlands of Rwanda.

Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking – Cultural Tour.

Have an early breakfast at 6:30 a.m. and head out for the Golden Monkey Tracking Experience at Kinigi Park Headquarters. The park rangers will advise you when you arrive, and then it’s a 15-minute drive to the trailhead. After that, you’ll embark on an exploration of the jungle to find the unusual primates. To learn more about Rwandan customs and practices, spend the afternoon on a cultural tour of the I’biwacyu hamlet.

Day 8: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park.

For the gorilla tracking expedition, depart at 6:30 a.m. from the Kinigi Park Headquarters. Before you leave for the trailhead and start your journey into the jungle in quest of the exceptional and uncommon gorillas, park rangers will provide you with instructions.

Day 9: Volcanoes to Kigali.

Today, make the transfer to Kigali. The international airport and your accommodation in Kigali are the drop-off destinations.

Day 10: Kigali to Kigali International Airport.

On this day, you will be picked up from your accommodation in Kigali and taken to the airport.
