When you arrive in Kigali, our driver guide will pick you up at the airport with a sign and send you to the hotel.

Accommodation: Hotel Des Mille Collins.

Meals: (Dinner).

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Akagera National Park.

The driver guide will first go on a city tour of Kigali with you today. Visit the Genocide Memorial Centre in Gisozi first to learn about the history of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. Visit the Nyamirambo Women Centre after two hours to learn the language, how to weave traditional handicrafts, and about the history, customs, and everyday existence of the indigenous people. You will travel to Akagera National Park for three hours in the afternoon. It is encircled by picturesque low mountains, lakes, wetlands, forests, and savannah. We will have lunch and a quick break at the Lodge when we arrive. You may enjoy Lake Ihema’s magnificent scenery by strolling around the scenic lodge at sunset.

Accommodation: Akagera Game Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Ride on Lake Ihema.

After breakfast, you will be driven by our driver guide through Akagera National Park’s breathtaking scenery as you proceed to the park’s northern region for a full day of wildlife viewing. All five of the Big Five reside in the park, including the critically endangered black rhino. Travelling through the prairie will expose you to a variety of scenery, as well as early risers like lions, spotted hyenas, and leopards, along with other wild creatures including buffalo, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and more. You may enjoy an interesting bird watching experience at the park, which is home to almost 500 different species of birds. Fortunately, it’s possible to see the distinctive red-faced barbet and shoebill storks in Rwanda.

You are going to eat a packed lunch in the forest after your peaceful game drive. You will take a boat excursion to Lake Ihema in the afternoon to search for aquatic creatures including crocodiles and hippos.

Accommodation: Akagera Game Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

Volcanoes National Park, one of the top locations in the world for gorilla trekking, is the site of today’s safari. We will travel five hours to get there today, starting from the Akagera National Park. While travelling, you will stop at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village to take part in customary cultural practices and see native dancers perform.

Accommodation: Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Experience.

After breakfast, our driver guide will come get you right away and deliver you to the Volcanoes headquarters in Kinigi. The park guide will split you and the other tourists into groups of no more than eight for gorilla trekking after providing a brief summary of hiking safety precautions. We will depart the headquarters at eight o’clock and head to the starting point of the hiking excursion. Our driving guide will not accompany you on your gorilla hunt; instead, he will wait for you at the starting point.

Depending on the gorilla’s movements, the hike can take anywhere from two to six hours. You will have one hour to spend with the gorillas after you locate them, making your Rwanda safari an experience you won’t soon forget. Proceed back to the beginning location to meet the driver guide after that, and then head back to the hotel to have some food and relax. Drive an hour to Rubavu town in the evening to spend the night.

Accommodation: Lake Kivu Serena Hotel.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 6: Return to Kigali – Departure.

You will spend approximately an hour sightseeing in Rubavu town in the morning. After that, take a canoe excursion of Lake Kivu. After 3.5 hours, the driver guide will drop you off at the Kigali International Airport.
