2 Days Rwanda Safari to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park – Canopy Walk Adventure.

After breakfast, our driver guide will come to your hotel or residence in Kigali and take you to Nyungwe National Park, which is home to chimpanzees. Travelling southwest, one may see Kamegeri Rock in Ruhango District and the lovely terraced hillsides that define much of Rwanda’s landscapes. When you get to the park, you’ll go on with the Canopy Walk adventure, which is an exhilarating journey across a suspended bridge that spans 160 meters through a verdant montane rainforest and rises 70 meters above the forest floor. This is one unique activity that provides an amazing perspective of the old woodland. Drive to the hotel, check in, relax and take advantage of the facilities on site.

Accommodation: Ken Barham Guest House.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking – Nyanza – Transfer back to Kigali.

This day, you’ll start your exciting journey in search of chimpanzee communities with an early breakfast at your accommodation. The estimated 400–500 Rwandan chimpanzees are believed to be restricted to Nyungwe National Park, which includes a tiny settlement in the Cyamudongo Forest. As their pant-hoots reverberate through the dense jungle, get ready to hear these animated primates before you ever see them. Along the way, you might see migrating birds of prey such as the regal sunbird, red-breasted sparrow hawk, grey-cheeked hornbill, and Ross’ turaco. Following your excursions, you will check out and make your journey back to Kigali, stopping along route at the Nyanza King’s Palace Museum for a cultural encounter before continuing on your return to Kigali. Drop-off at the airport or your hotel/residence, depending on the specifics of your journey.
