Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Akagera – Boat Ride in Lake Ihema – Night Game Drive.
Early in the morning, depart Kigali and stop at the Imigongo Art Centre and Cafe to stretch your legs, see the artwork, and use the restrooms. It’s also possible for you to purchase anything else or a cup of coffee there. After arriving at Akagera by 1200 hours, complete the registration process and continue to the Akagera Game Lodge for lunch. Drive to Ihema Lake, the largest lake in the park and the second largest in Rwanda, after lunch. Enjoy the boat cruise and discover the hippos and crocodiles. Following the boat ride, we will proceed to Akagera Game Lodge to register and prepare for the departure at 17:30 for an evening/nighttime game drive to find nocturnal creatures. Eat dinner by 21h00, place your order for a picnic lunch the next day, and stay overnight in preparation for the full-day game drive the following day.

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Akagera.
After breakfast, check out so that you are prepared for a full-day game drive at 07:30, when a driver-guide from Countryside Tours-Rwanda will pick you up. Choose a picnic lunch and explore the magnificent Akagera National Park, which is home to a wide range of savannah animals and wildlife, for the entire day. Animals such as buffaloes, elephants, giraffes, zebras, impalas, and many more can be found in Akagera National Park. In Akagera National Park, black rhinos and lions have just been reintroduced after a protracted period of extinction. Because of their small population and tendency to hide, black rhino sightings are never certain. Enjoy the game drive while taking in the views of many lakes and landscapes as well as the natural habitats of various animals and birds. After leaving the park, return by car to Kigali. You will be dropped off at your Kigali hotel, the airport, or any other location of your choosing.
