Gorilla Valley Lodge is a very unique location, perched on a steep slope and surrounded by a dense forest. Picture yourself sipping tea or coffee on your own patio, watching the mist miraculously disappear to reveal a beautiful rainforest, and feeling the forest come to life as you wake up to the sound of the forest.

Gorilla Valley Lodge

The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is one metre away from your veranda. The majestic mountain gorillas seem to be inviting you into their home. But these kind giants are only your neighbours, coming out of the jungle every now and again to hang out in our garden; they are not your hosts. This is what makes Gorilla Valley Lodge special.

The 12-room Gorilla Valley Lodge has large private bathrooms, toilets, and a dining/waiting area. It is exquisitely located in a lowland evergreen forest, offering stunning views of the abundant wildlife of the African Eden and the mighty Virunga Volcanoes nearby. Each room has been tastefully done in a modern retro style and supplied with twin beds.

Because of its high building slope, the lodge offers the greatest views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Every accommodation has an own patio where guests may take in the beauty of the woodland. Our well-furnished rooms, which feature solar water heaters and comfy beds, guarantee a restful night’s sleep.

Gorilla Valley Lodge offers a retreat and a chance to reconnect with nature; it’s a little piece of rural paradise tucked away from the bustling city. The friendly gorillas call GVL home. Occasionally, they emerge from the jungle to spend time eating and playing in our gardens. You can practically touch this national park, which is home to our mountain gorillas, from the accommodation verandas.

The primary structure housing the restaurant and bar is situated at the top of the hill. This viewpoint is breathtaking. You can unwind in front of the fire in the lounge, or you can settle up on the veranda. The eatery combines the best of two worlds with an international buffet made by a chef from Uganda.

There are well-kept terraces at the Lodge where you may unwind and enjoy a cocktail while admiring the stunning views of the valley, surrounding area, and wildlife. The occasional gorilla visitation to the garden for play and feeding will astound you.

The resort is equipped with solar water heaters in each room and a solar power supply for lighting. Candles and flashlights are also provided in the rooms in case there is a power outage. Running water is available throughout the camp, and the restrooms provide hot water so you may have a hot bath, especially on chilly mornings. You can do anything you want to do at the camp without worrying about running out of water.

Rushaga Ranger Station is close to Gorilla Valley Lodge. From Kabale Road, signposts indicate the route. Take the road to the right at Rushaga, which will take you directly to the lodge.
