7 Days Burundi Wildlife Safari Adventure

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Bujumbura

Upon your arrival in Bujumbura, you will be received by our company representative who will brief you on the 7 day tour in Burundi and transfer you to a hotel already booked for you. Depending on your arrival time, you may go on a tour of Bujumbura city where you will visit a number of places before checking in to the hotel, for dinner and overnight stay.

Accommodation: Club Du Lac Tanganyika.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Transfer to Rusizi National Park.

Travel to Rusizi National Park, where antelopes, hippos, monkeys, and a variety of vibrant bird species can be found. Take note of the River Rusizi’s discharge into Lake Tanganyika. After that, make your way to the Explorers’ Memorial, a large rock in the Bujumbura suburbs that honours the meeting of explorers Hannington and John Speke. Take a Tuk-Tuk ride around the shores of Lake Tanganyika and visit Albert’s zoo.

Day 3: Bujumbura – Gitega – Gishora

Make your way to the magnificent waterfalls and the Nile’s source after breakfast. Proceed to Gitega to see Gishora’s drum sanctuary, which is well-known for producing drums. There are two ceremonial drums here that have never been struck. Murimirwa, the one we nourish, and Ruciteme, the one for whom we clear the forest. In addition, the Batimbo (drummers) utilised various common drums for the nation’s ceremonial events. Visit the National Museum and take a tour of Gitega, including the Catholic Village, after that.

Day 4: Gitega – Ruvubu National Park

Day 5: Transfer to Nyanza- Kigwena Forest

Travel southward and explore the palm oil industry at Nyanza, a tiny plantation of palm trees. Take a nature stroll in the Kigwena Forest Reserve later on; it’s home to baboons, monkeys, and a variety of bird species.

Day 6: Mugara Hot Spring – Return to Bujumbura

See the Mugara Hot Springs, which consist of two falls forming a downstream basin. The springs naturally flow into Lake Tanganyika as well. Visit the fishing village next, and then make your way back to Bujumbura, stopping along the way to go fishing.

Day 7: Departure

Wake up at leisure, have breakfast and check out of the hotel. Depending on the time of your departure flight, you may go on a tour of Bujumbura City to explore more of you have missed earlier. Later be transferred to the airport in time for your homebound flight.
