Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Kigali International Airport

Our driver will meet you when you arrive at Kigali International Airport and take you to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast at the hotel, take a tour of the city and the Genocide Memorial Museum. Then, have lunch at a local Kigali restaurant. After that, head to the Volcanoes National Park for a picturesque drive. The trip north winds through the picturesque terraced slopes that make up a large portion of Rwanda’s terrain before descending gently to the base of the Virunga Volcanoes, where occasionally up to five peaks can be seen.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

You will have the exceptional opportunity to witness the famous Rwandan mountain gorillas today, provided that gorilla permits are available. Following the gorillas through the wooded slopes of the Virungas is a wonderful experience. If you’re lucky, you can spend an hour with the gorillas. You’ll be back in time for a late lunch at the base. It can take a full day to track down some gorilla families, though, especially in muddy and rainy weather. Return to the lodge for some afternoon relaxation after lunch.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes National Park

You will leave for Golden Monkeys Trekking to see the well-known Rwandan mountain after breakfast in the morning. After lunch at The Lodge, head out of the foothills of the Virunga Volcanoes and head to Kibuye, the capital of Rwanda’s Western Province, known as the “beach city.” Kibuye is home to rocky beaches, serene islands, and the beautiful Ndaba Falls, which are just a short drive from the city.

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park – Canopy Walk

After an early breakfast, you will depart from your lodge and go to Nyungwe National Park. Situated between 1600 and 2950 meters above sea level, this hilly rainforest reserve is home to over 260 different tree and plant species, as well as over 100 different types of orchids and massive lobelia. The park has breathtaking landscape in addition to its incredible biodiversity. After lunch at the Lodge, take the optional canopy walk in the afternoon.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park

After a delicious breakfast at your lodge, set out on an exciting walk to find chimpanzee groups. It is estimated that there are between 400 and 500 Rwandan chimpanzees living in Nyungwe National Park, which includes a small settlement in the Cyamudongo Forest. As their pant-hoots move through the dense jungle, get ready to hear these energetic monkeys before you see them. You might also see migratory birds like the red-breasted sparrow hawk, grey-cheeked hornbill, Ross’ turaco, and royal sunbird while hiking. Utilise the lodge’s amenities or take a leisurely stroll around the grounds after lunch.

Day 7: Colobus Monkey Tracking in Nyungwe Forest.

After an early breakfast at your lodge, you will go out on an exciting walk to find populations of Colobus Monkeys. You might also see migratory birds like the red-breasted sparrow hawk, grey-cheeked hornbill, Ross’ turaco, and royal sunbird while hiking. Utilise the lodge’s amenities or take a leisurely stroll around the grounds after lunch.

Day 8: Return to Kigali – Departure.

After breakfast, take a drive to Butare, Rwanda’s cultural hub, which is home to several universities and the famous Mwami Palace (King’s Palace). Visit the Butare National Museum as well. It is an ethnographic museum with historical relics, maps, photographs, and traditional clothing. Go to Kigali after lunch at a neighbourhood eatery in Butare, where you will be driven to Kigali International Airport to get ready for your next flight.
