Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Kigali – Transfer to Bukavu.
Our company representative will meet you at the airport and take you to the border between Kigali and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. You will travel through stunning scenery and tea plantations before arriving in Bukavu town, where you will spend the night and have dinner.

Day 2: Lowland Gorilla Trekking Experience.
Following breakfast, you will travel early to the park headquarters for a briefing, gorilla encounters, and a walk with the lowland gorillas. It takes one to four hours, and during that time you can spend an hour with the gorillas before going back for lunch and some downtime in the evening. It’s an incredible experience.

Day 3: Boat Transfer to Goma.
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and then be taken by boat to Goma. Lake Kivu offers breathtaking views of the surrounding volcanoes. It offers a chance to see the surroundings and many species of birds. Make sure to get there in time for supper and your stay.

Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience.
After breakfast, you will make your way to the park headquarters for an orientation. After that, you will travel through the forest for two or more hours, depending on how far the gorilla families have moved, in quest of these magnificent animals. You are permitted to spend an hour with the gorillas before returning to the lodge for lunch and a laid-back evening, or you may decide to go for a stroll in the evening.

Day 5: Nyiragongo Volcano Hiking Experience.
You will drive to the park headquarters after an early breakfast to receive a briefing before you begin your day’s activities. The walk starts at around 10:00 am and takes, depending on how quickly the last person goes, about 6 hours. By spending the night at the summit, you will get the chance to witness the active volcanic activity.

Day 6: Descend Nyiragongo Volcano.
You will descend the volcano this morning, and you can unwind this afternoon while you wait to wrap up your eight-day adventure.
