Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Entebbe Airport.

When you arrive at Entebbe International Airport in Uganda, our driver/guide will greet you and provide you with an orientation before taking you to Kampala, the country’s capital. Arrive at the hotel you have reserved in advance for dinner and the night.

Accommodation: Kampala Sheraton Hotel, Kampala Serena Hotel, Cassia Lodge.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

After breakfast at the hotel, head to the primate capital of the world, Kibale Forest National Park, where you may track chimpanzees, the closest relatives of humans, for a five to six-hour ride. Alternatively, you can be picked up at the hotel. Enjoy the breathtaking vistas of the verdant tea estates of Toro and Mubende Rocks during this thrilling adventure. There are two stops along the way: one for lunch at Fort Portal Town and the other at the enigmatic Nakayima tree. Proceed to the Lodge in the Kibale Forest National Park to spend the night and have dinner.

Accommodation: Primate Lodge, Kyaninga Lodge, Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 3: Kibale Chimpanzee Tracking – Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After breakfast, prepare your hiking equipment and meet at the Kanyanchu Visitor Centre for an orientation. Start the walk slowly and pick up the pace, but the ranger/guide will notify you of the chimps’ arrival after an hour or three. After spending an hour with these fascinating primates, head back to the Lodge for lunch. Check out of the Lodge and make your way to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and an overnight stay following a midday meal and a little rest.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise along Kazinga Channel.

Rising to the gentle sounds of the forest, you will eat breakfast and embark on an early game drive where you will be able to see a variety of African animals, such as warthogs, buffaloes, topis, lions, and Uganda Kobs. In addition, several of the park’s crater lakes and bird species that live in Queen Elizabeth National Park will be explored throughout the program. Return to the Lodge to have lunch. You can expect yet another unexpected wildlife sighting at the banks of the Nile, where you can see hippos and crocodiles lounging alongside aquatic birds, particularly African fish eagles and pelicans. This afternoon boat cruise will take place along the Kazinga Channel. Go to the Loge to unwind, have dinner, and spend the night.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

You will be moved to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park on day five in order to fulfill your ambition of seeing the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Enjoy your breakfast before leaving the Lodge and beginning your thrilling ride, which will reward you with breathtaking views of the Kigezi Mountains. The journey will include lunch at the Savannah Resort in Kihihi, and an evening arrival in Bwindi.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs Camp, Silverback Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 6: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi.

After breakfast, get your hiking gear ready for the exciting gorilla adventure. Head to the Briefing point to meet up with other hikers and get a briefing on the rules governing the activity. Proceed to the trailhead, where you will hike with seven other hikers, porters, guides and armed rangers, or arrange to be driven there. Once one to four hours have passed, you will be introduced to the assigned gorilla family as they go about their daily lives. After an hour of conversation, return to the Lodge for lunch and relaxation. If you’re not too exhausted, go for an optional stroll during the night, or just relax at the lodge.

Day 7: Return to Kampala – Departure.

After a satisfying breakfast, gather your belongings, and check out of the lodge in order to make your way to Kampala.
