Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe

Our company representative will meet you when you arrive and take you to your reserved lodging. He will also give you an itinerary for the following seven days in Uganda, so you may unwind and enjoy the gem of Africa.

Meals: (Dinner).

Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.

After breakfast, you will travel to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. This is one of the few tropical rain forests left in East Africa, and it is home to 13 primate species, as well as other forest creatures like forest elephants and giant forest hogs. The trip takes about five hours, and we will arrive in time for lunch and a community visit in the afternoon. The women’s empowerment centre makes lovely crafts and weaves baskets before returning for dinner and spending the night there.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale – Bigodi Swamp Walk

Following breakfast in the morning, we will head to the Kanyanchu tourist centre for a morning briefing. You will be escorted around the forest in groups to enjoy the natural wonders of the area. Breakfast in the morning will be followed by a briefing at the park headquarters on the dos and don’ts when it comes to the primates. The Uganda Wildlife Authority will lead you through the area in a group, and you will start tracking the primates, which takes two to three hours. The primates are so noisy that you can hear them from a distance. In the trees, keep an eye out for other species, such as the black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, and red colobus monkeys.

After returning to meet your guide, you will learn a great deal about this forest, including its tree species. You will also have lunch at the lodge and have a stroll in the Bigodi swamp in the afternoon, where you will see a variety of wildlife, including birds and butterflies.

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After breakfast, you will travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is home to half of the world’s primate population and is one of the last places to see mountain gorillas. We will also go through the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Ishasha to go tree climbing. On favourable days, it’s simple to detect lions looking through the fig trees; on other days, it takes a keen eye to spot them. Lions arrive at the Lodge for supper and spend the night there.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Batwa Community Visit.

After breakfast in the morning, you will be taken to the park headquarters for a briefing before we enter the forest. A Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger will lead you through the tracking process, which is conducted in groups of eight per gorilla family. The park’s terrain may appear difficult at first, but it will be very rewarding at the end of the day as you encounter the gentle species. The primary focus will be on the primates, who are led by a male silverback and enjoy living in families of up to 20 members. Lunch at the lodge, followed by a trek through the Buninga forest to the Batwa settlement in the afternoon.

Day 6: Community Visit – Afternoon Relaxation at the Lodge

After breakfast, you will travel to the community to see how the people of western Uganda live. You will walk through their farms, engage with the locals, and learn a lot about Uganda. You will return to the lodge for a relaxing afternoon and enjoy a massage while taking in the forest’s fresh air. The lodge will also prepare a delicious dinner for you.

Day 7: Return to Kampala – Departure

After breakfast in the morning, you will travel through the Kigezi highlands and downhill till you reach your international flight home.
