6 Days Gorilla Tracking Tour in Congo

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Virunga National Park

After picking you up from Kigali, our company representative will take you to Goma, where you will cross the border and start your incredible mountain gorilla trekking adventure. Numerous animal and plant species may be found in the Virunga National Park, and the Semuliki Valley and the larger East African rift valley region are included in the national conservation area.

Accommodation: Bukima Tented Camp.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking Experience.

You will be taken to the park centre to begin the day’s activities after breakfast. Depending on how far the gorilla families have migrated, you will be split up into groups to track them. Once you’ve found these gentle giants, you’ll have an hour to spend with them. Following this encounter, the trip back to the headquarters and the nightly stay at the camp begin.

Accommodation: Bukima Tented Camp.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking Experience.

Breakfast early in the morning and then a transfer to the park headquarters to monitor chimpanzees. In recent times, chimpanzees have become accustomed to seeing tourists at the Virunga volcanoes. Compared to mountain gorillas, tracking chimpanzees is far simpler. Groups of six people can complete the exercise in two to three hours, and they can spend an hour with the species. Since chimpanzees and humans share up to 98% of the same DNA, they are considered to be very close relatives. You will later return to the lodge to unwind and eat dinner.

Accommodation: Bukima Tented Camp.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 4: Transfer to Kahuzi Biega National Park

After breakfast, you will leave Bukavu town and travel through Congo’s little towns and villages as you make your way south. When you arrive for supper and spend the night, you will take in the breathtaking views of the southern region of the nation.

Accommodation: L’orchids Safari Club.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 5: Lowland Gorilla Trekking Experience.

Before beginning your lowland gorilla walk, you will be taken to the park headquarters for an orientation. Finding these gorillas is simple and only takes three to four hours. You get an hour to spend with the mountain gorillas, and then it’s back to the resort for dinner and relaxation to cap off a wonderful day spent in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Accommodation: L’orchids Safari Club.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 6: Return to Kigali – Departure.
