Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Arrival – Entebbe International Airport.

Our driver/guide will meet you at Entebbe International Airport and give you an overview of the 5-day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari. You might be given a tour of Kampala City based on when you arrive, during which you would see sites including Kabaka’s Palace, Independence Monument, Namugongo Martyr’s Shrine, Gaddafi Mosque, and Kabaka’s Lake, among others. After that, you will be taken to a Kampala hotel that has been reserved for you for dinner and the night.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Our driver/guide will pick you up from your Kampala hotel after your early breakfast, and you will travel for nine hours to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the southwest region of Uganda. At Kayabwe, just outside Kampala, you will stop at the Equator Crossing to take some pictures and witness a little display that establishes the equator’s presence there.

After that, you’ll resume your journey and stop for lunch at the Agip Motel in Mbarara. Following lunch, you will travel through the verdant landscape of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which offers breathtaking views and the comforting sense that you are indeed in the heart of Africa. In time for dinner and your overnight stay, you will arrive at the lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in the evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

After a packed lunch and an early morning meal at the resort, Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) representatives will take you to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing. To make sure you have an unforgettable time in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, they will teach you all the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Guides will be provided to assist you in finding the mountain gorillas. The gorillas’ movements determine how long the gorilla trekking takes. You can spend up to an hour with the gorillas after you find them. Take the most amazing pictures of the kind giants during this time. Upon your return to the park headquarters, you will receive credentials for gorilla trekking. You will then embark on a three hour journey to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, where you will arrive in time for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

You will receive a packed lunch following your early morning meal, and the driver or guide will take you to the park headquarters where Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) representatives will give you a pre-trek briefing. Like they did in Bwindi, they will teach you all the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Tour guides will accompany you into the jungle and assist you in finding the mountain gorillas. Where the gorillas spent the night before determines how long the gorilla trek takes. You can spend up to an hour with the gorillas after you find them, taking amazing pictures and observing their movements. Upon your return to the park headquarters, you will receive credentials for gorilla trekking.

You have the option of doing a community tour of the Batwa people or just lounging at the resort in the afternoon. The Batwa tour is a thrilling experience that is a perfect way to wrap up your trip to Mgahinga, Uganda. It’s completely up to you, however you might want to bring some extra cash to contribute to these locals. After that, you’ll be taken back to the lodge for dinner and the night.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala – Entebbe Airport.

After eating breakfast at the lodge in Mgahinga early in the morning, you will travel for nine hours to either Entebbe Airport or Kampala. For lunch and to discover more about the intriguing Ankole culture, you will stop by the Igongo Cultural Centre. After that, you’ll continue on to Kayabwe, where you’ll make a second stop at the Equator crossing for further pictures and to purchase mementos to bring home. In the event that you have a late-night flight back home or to your next location, you will continue and be driven either to a hotel in Kampala or to Entebbe Airport.
