Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Ruhengeri
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our company representative who will brief you on the 4 day safari in Rwanda and transfer you to a hotel already booked for you in Kigali City. Check in, have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
To begin tracking the gorillas, leave early for Ruhengeri. Perhaps the most thrilling and difficult activities of our entire journey will take place over the next two days. There are only 700 mountain gorillas in the world, including the ones in the Parc National des Volcans. There are five habituated family groups of gorillas that we are permitted to track. These groups have been through a very delicate process for up to five years apiece, which has progressively made them tolerant of humans for a short time each day and permitted a select few privileged visitors to engage with them in the wild.
The gorillas are utterly wild creatures and are by no means domesticated. We will, however, be accompanied on our tracking by knowledgeable guides, many of whom have personally gone through the habituation process. To find the group’s whereabouts, the guides will utilise information from the previous day and their understanding of the gorillas’ routines.
As a result, tracking the gorillas can take anywhere from 30 minutes to up to 8 hours before returning to base. Our group will have little more than an hour to spend with the gorillas after they are found. Looking into the eyes of these amazing creatures drives home the connection between them and us, making this one of the most unforgettable experiences in the world. It also emphasises the sobering reality that they are in danger of going extinct and that our presence here helps to ensure their survival.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking – Return to Kigali
The Golden Monkey (Cercopithecus Kandti), one of the “Little Primates” of the Virungas, is currently listed as endangered by the IUCN due to its low population. This morning, you take part in another adventure tracking this species. The track will take up the majority of the day, and we will be in a small group of no more than six people. Later in the afternoon, you make your way back to Kigali.

Day 4: Kigali City Tour – Departure.
You take a city tour this morning, have an early lunch, and then head to the airport to catch your flight out.
