4 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari in Rwanda

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast in the morning on this day, you will meet our tour guide, who will arrange for you to have a tour of Kigali City. During your Kigali city tour, our knowledgeable tour guide will lead you to the various locations you have requested to see in the “land of a thousand hills.” You will see the Dr. Richard Kandt Museum of Natural History, the home of the first German colonial resident of Rwanda, the Kandt House, a presidential museum housing two former Rwandan presidents, and the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, which honours the 1994 Rwandan Genocide.

Rwanda’s capital, Kigali, is a thriving commercial hub with a year-round mild climate that makes it possible to visit at any time of the year. It is for this reason that you will be taken to Volcanoes National Park after the city tour.

Accommodation: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, Da Vinci Lodge.

Meals: (Dinner).

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking Experience

After breakfast, you will be picked up by our driving guide and driven to the park headquarters, where you will be given instructions on what to do and what not to do while visiting. Remember that the gorilla trekking expedition departs at 7:30 am. You can enjoy the country’s hot Rwandan coffee and traditional dances prior to the tour beginning. Depending on which gorilla family you will be trekking with, the driver guide will transport you to the start of their chosen track.

Meeting gorillas can take anything from an hour to several hours, depending on where they wander in the jungle in search of food. The park government permits guests to spend up to one hour with the gorillas; after that, you will return to the ground and unwind at your lodging.

Accommodation: Mountain Gorilla View Lodge, Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, Da Vinci Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Kivu

Your safari travel guide will pick you up from the hotel on this particular day and take you to Lake Kivu for a boat excursion.
