4 Days Fly in Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Fly From Entebbe to Bwindi

It is best to stay in or close to Entebbe the night before this day so you won’t have to worry about making your trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Free shuttles to Entebbe Airport are provided by the majority of Entebbe hotels. We will be pleased to set up the transfer for you if you are unable to obtain this. Our staff should have contacted you by the time you arrive at Entebbe Airport to provide you with your e-tickets and gorilla permits (assuming they haven’t already been forwarded to the Bwindi park office).

When checking in for your journey to Bwindi, the terminal workers at Entebbe Airport will need to see your passport. Employees from Aerolink will also be waiting to greet you and take you to the plane. The majority of your hour-long journey to Kisoro/Bwindi is at lower altitudes, giving you breathtaking views of the mountains, rivers, and rural Ugandan communities. Our representative will pick you up when you arrive and disembark at the Kihihi/Kisoro airfield and take you to your overnight accommodation. Normally, it takes an hour to drive from either airfield through beautiful scenery.

Walking tours can be arranged with guides if you have additional time during the day. You could opt for a guided Bwindi community walk or the Batwa Pygmies community trek. Additionally, guided treks into the forest of Bwindi National Park are available if you arrive early.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs.

Meals: (Dinner).

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi

Your driver will pick you up at your Bwindi lodge or camp early this morning (about 7 am) to make sure everyone is ready for your first gorilla tracking experience. Usually, you do this after eating breakfast. After that, you are taken to the park headquarters for a pre-tourist briefing on gorilla trekking. Here, you may find out more about the ecology and conservation of mountain gorillas, as well as see brief films about them. The local women’s group occasionally puts on a presentation of traditional music and dancing from the surrounding communities.

After that, you’ll be placed in the gorilla group. The group, which is limited to eight members, visits a single gorilla group or family. A crew of supporting trackers and ranger escorts is assigned to each party. We advise you to think about employing a porter to help you carry your backpack because hiking through dense underbrush can be rather taxing. Hiring a porter for the gorilla hike is $15 USD, although you can pay more if you’d like. The trailhead for the gorilla hike should be 20 to 30 minutes away by car for the majority of gorilla families, but for some, it is only a short stroll from the park office.

After your one-hour visit with the gorillas, you’ll start the descent back down. Along the way, the rangers will find a cosy location in the bush for you to eat your packed lunch. The rest of the day is yours to relax at your accommodation or do more guided tours of the nearby communities of Bwindi.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi

Today is our second gorilla trip in Bwindi, which we are excited about. If the cost of getting a second tracking permit is the only factor taken into account, then the advantages of tracking mountain gorillas more than once may be disregarded. First, a completely other family of gorillas is shown to you, behaving significantly differently from the first one. Similar to human families, mountain gorilla families exhibit distinct behavioural patterns. This is particularly valid when there are tourists around. Every gorilla family also has a unique composition; some contain up to thirty mountain gorillas, while others have just five. As a tropical rainforest, Bwindi is likely to have rain on the day of your gorilla walk.

Having a second gorilla hike helps you make up for any rain that falls on your first day of observing the gorillas in Bwindi, which will also allow you to take better pictures. On your second gorilla trek, our crew will make sure you are assigned to a different gorilla family; they may be in the same area of Bwindi, but their makeup will undoubtedly be different from the gorillas you saw on your first trekking adventure.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 4: Fly Back to Entebbe – Departure

Regretfully, following your incredible adventure gatherings, the four-day Uganda fly-in gorilla trek tour comes to an end! Depending on the departing flight you are scheduled on, our agent will make arrangements for your transfer to the Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip at the most convenient time. Please let us know if you would like gorillas and wildlife safaris to arrange your transportation to and from Entebbe Airport, or if you would like to spend one or more nights in Entebbe or Kampala.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch).
