3 Days Masai Mara Wildlife Safari

Detailed Itinerary.

Day 1: Transfer to Masai Mara

You will be picked from your hotel or place of residence in Nairobi by our tour guide who will then transfer you in a 4 x 4 safari vehicle to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch. Spend the afternoon relaxing at the lodge and later have dinner and stay the night.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

You will have to get up early to witness the park’s abundant fauna, which is said to be the densest of any park in the region. On this day, the bright meadows and distinctive acacia trees that adorn these plains provide infinite opportunities for game viewing. Africa’s “Big Five”—the lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—should be avoided. There’s also an abundance of birdlife, and if you happen to be here during the Great Migration, which takes place from July to October, you’ll witness the biggest animal migration in the world.

The Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles wait, is where thousands of migratory species enter the park, mostly consisting of zebras and wildebeest. With the predators waiting in wait and the herds flowing into these regions in search of fresh grasses, there is unavoidable drama potential here. One way to enhance your Masai Mara experience is to opt for a visit to one of the nearby settlements. You may get a close-up look at the Maasai way of life and meet them there.

An early-morning hot air balloon ride over the area is another alternative activity. Watch the park below come to life as the savannah’s fields light up and the animals start their new days there. A wonderful experience – simply request that your driver/guide arrange for one or both of the activities.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Return to Nairobi – Departure.

Following a relaxed breakfast at your lodge or camp, your committed driver guide will help you with the check-out procedure and take you to Nairobi, the vibrant capital city of Kenya. Along the route, your guide will show out the Longonot extinct volcano, a stratovolcano in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley that is situated southeast of Lake Naivasha. Its name, Oloonong’ot, is taken from the Maasai language and means “mountains of many spurs” or “steep ridges.” It is believed to have last erupted in the 1860s. You can choose to drive directly to Nairobi and pass by Kiambethu farm for the tea farm tour, which includes a three-course buffet lunch (at an additional cost), OR drive directly back to the capital and then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your flight home. Alternatively, you can drive via Naivasha for lunch or excursions at an additional cost.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
