Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Virunga National Park

Our company representative will greet you upon arrival and arrange for a transfer to Virunga National Park. You will travel through Gisenyi Town with the stunning highlands and land of a thousand hills as your backdrop. After dinner, spend the night by Lake Kivu’s edge.

Accommodation: Lake Kivu Serena Lodge.

Meals: (Lunch, Dinner).

Day 2: Nyirangongo Volcano Hiking

You will gather at the park headquarters around 7:00am after an early breakfast. With our guide’s assistance, cross the border and check in at the tourism office. Following the morning briefing, begin the walk. The time it takes to reach the peak is determined on how quickly the last person went. It takes around hours. There is an adventurous trail through the woodland region. You will be able to witness the mountain’s luminous sheen. Spend the evening at the top.

Accommodation: Camping Tent.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 3: Descend the Mountain – Departure.

Wake up early and descend the volcano, meeting our guide at the border who will transfer you to Kigali International Airport for your international flight back home.
