After breakfast, you will be driven to Murchison Falls National Park, which is an angelic drive through the Kampala Gulu highway. The trip takes about six hours, during which we will stop to track rhinos at the Ziwa sanctuary, the only location in Uganda where the animal species can be found. If time permits, you will then continue to the top of the falls to enjoy a Nile dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise

After breakfast in the morning, you will go on a game drive along the northern bank of Pakuba, where you will see a variety of animals, including elephants, oribi, giraffes, African buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, and warthogs, to name a few. Popular water animals on the cruise include hippos and Nile crocodiles.

Day 4: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Kibale Forest National Park. The drive through the ever-green rolling hills and vegetation is breathtaking, and as you get closer to the forest, nature always welcomes you. You won’t want to miss the standing roadside olive baboons. The drive takes about nine hours, and lunch will be provided along the way. After that, we will check into the lodge for dinner and spend the night there.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale – Bigodi Swamp Walk.

After breakfast in the morning, we’ll gather at the park headquarters for a briefing on the does and doughnuts. We’ll then start tracking primates, which takes two to three hours in the trees. During that time, you’ll be looking for other species, such as the black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, and red colobus monkeys. The chimps make a lot of noise as you approach them with their charter sound. You have an hour to shoot pictures before meeting your guide. There is also lunch at the lodge and an afternoon walk in the Bigodi swamp, which is home to a variety of birds, including other primates, birds, and angelic butterflies.

Accommodation: Kyaniga Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, you will travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is home to half of the primates and is one of the few places left to see mountain gorillas. We will also travel through the southern section of Queen Elizabeth National Park in Ishasha to see tree-climbing lions; on good days, it’s easy to spot them, but on bad days, it takes a keen eye to spot them. Get to the lodge for dinner and spend the night there.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking Experience – Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will be taken to the park headquarters for a briefing before we enter the forest. Tracking is done in groups of eight per gorilla family, and a Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger will lead you through the park. The terrain may seem difficult, but it will be very rewarding at the end of the day as you encounter the gentle species. The primary focus will be on the primates, and you will be allowed to spend an hour with them while following the gorilla rules and regulations. On a lucky day, you might have the opportunity to see forest elephants, black and white colobus monkeys, and l’hoest monkeys. Get to know your guide, who will lead you to Lake Bunyonyi.

Accommodation: Birds Nest.

Meals: (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).

Day 8: Canoe Cruise – Optional Zip Lining Experience

Following breakfast, we will meet our guide, who will lead us through the day’s activities. We will see the majority of the islands scattered across the stunning Volcanic Lake; the animal island is particularly wonderful because you have the opportunity to interact with the animals there, and the surrounding Kigezi scenery is breathtaking. Come back to the lodge for lunch, and then spend the afternoon zip lining across the lake if you want to, or just unwind and spend the evening at your leisure.

Accommodation: Birds Nest.

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

We’ll have tea or coffee and something to warm our bellies before heading to the nation’s smallest conservation area, Savannah Park, which is home to numerous animal and plant species and has beautiful lakes and water covering most of its area. We’ll arrive in time for a hot lunch and an afternoon game drive through the park’s well-maintained routes, where we can expect to see zebras, impalas, buffaloes, elands, Jackson hartebeests, and warthogs, to name a few dinner and spend the night.
